Palabra del día – Tocar

Tocar (verbo transitivo)

English: To touch, to feel, to handle, to ring (bell, alarm clock), Also to play (an Instrument, to win the lottery or a chance game.

Spanish: Ejercitar el sentido del tacto, Llegar a algo con la mano, sin cogerlo. Interpretar una pieza musical. Golpear algo, para reconocer su calidad por el sonido. Dicho de una cosa: Caer en suerte.

Examples: ¡no vayas a tocar ese cable! don’t touch that cable!. Mis ahorros no los quiero tocar, I don’t want to touch my savings. La planta ya toca el techo, the plant is already touching the ceiling. Nunca me toca la lotería, I never win the lottery. Quieo aprender a tocar la guitarra electrica, I want to learn to play the electric guitar.
