Encajar (verbo transitivo)

English: to fit, to insert, to conceive, to get in

Spanish: Meter algo, o parte de ello, dentro de otra cosa. Ajustar algo con otra cosa, apretándolo para que no se salga o caiga. Unir ajustadamente algo con otra cosa. Recibir, soportar sin gran quebranto golpes, un resultado o tanteo adverso, etc.

Examples: Encajar la llave en la cerradura, to insert the key in the lock. Encajaron tres goles, they conceived three goals. No encaja bien,  it doesn’t fit properly. hay que encajar las fichas del rompecabezas, you have to fit the pieces of the puzzle together.
